Elim Park Breaks Ground for New Wellness Center
On March 27, 2007, Elim Park broke ground for a $6.5 million construction project to add a state-of-the-art Wellness Center and Bethel Place, a combination chapel and performing arts center to their campus by spring, 2008. Age Dynamics provided consulting support for the Wellness Center which will have a warm water pool, fully-equipped cardio-strength room and a large multi-purpose studio for group exercises, aerobics, education and other uses. The center will serve as a source for aquatic therapy and fitness for Elim Park residents and about 450 patients who are served by Elim Park’s short-term rehabilitation program each year.
Speaking at the groundbreaking, John Rude said, “The current wellness program at Elim Park is a robust program focused on mind, body and spirit, and it is producing measurable improvements for residents. This new Wellness Center will make Elim Park a leader in shifting the goal from caring for older people to empowering them. It will help to change the way we look at aging.”
